China and Kyrgyzstan have cooperated on various projects under the Belt and Road Initiative. An oil refinery -- one of China's biggest investments in Kyrgyzstan – is said to have greatly contributed to income and employment. CGTN's Wu Guoxiu paid a visit to the plant and brings us this report.

中国和吉尔吉尔斯坦开展了各种一带一路项目合作。据悉，作为在吉尔吉尔斯坦投资最多的中国企业之一，有一家炼油厂对当地的收入和就业增长做出了重大贡献。近日，中国环球电视网记者吴国秀采访了这家工厂，给我们带回了这篇报道。

Two hours away from the capital Bishkek is China's largest investment project in Kyrgyzstan -- the Zhongda China Petrol Company.

中大中国石油公司作为中国在吉尔吉斯斯坦投资规模最大的项目，距离首都比什凯克市有两小时的车程。

The refinery was born from a 500-million-dollar backing by a Chinese company. It processes crude oil imported by rail from Russia and Kazakhstan, as well as a small amount from local Kyrgyzstan.

这家炼油厂是由一家由中国公司出资5亿美元建造的，负责加工从俄罗斯和哈萨克斯坦进口的原油及吉尔吉斯斯坦当地生产的少量原油。

SHI JIANGUO, DEPUTY MANAGER ZHONGDA CHINA PETROL COMPANY "In 2008, our manager found that this country didn't have a modern oil refinery. Then, through contact with the government, we decided to build this factory. Since it began operating in 2014, it has helped stabilize local oil prices significantly easing their troubles with oil usage."

史建国目前担任中大中国石油公司副经理，他指出，“2008年，我们经理发现这个国家没有现代化的炼油厂。然后，通过与政府联络，我们决定建造这家工厂。自2014年开始运营以来，炼油厂帮助稳定了当地油价，明显缓解了石油使用方面的麻烦。”

WU GUOXIU KARA BALTA, KYRGYZSTAN "This Chinese invested refinery paid the Kyrgyz government 43 million US dollars last year, being the country's second largest taxpayer. It's also one of the nation's largest employers, hiring over 2000 locals."

“去年，这家由中国人投资的炼油厂向吉尔吉斯斯坦政府纳税4300万美元，成为该国第二大纳税企业。这家炼油厂还是吉尔吉斯斯坦规模最大的公司之一，当地雇佣员工总数超过2000人”，吴国秀吉尔吉斯斯坦卡拉巴尔塔报道。

Over 80 percent of the employees are locals, including technicians. The company used to send staff to China for techniques and language training. Twenty-seven-year-old Esen studied in China for a year before working on safety maintenance.

在这家炼油厂里，有80%以上的员工都是本地人，包括技术人员。公司过去常常派遣员工到中国接受技术培训和语言培训。二十七岁的Esen在从事安全维护工作之前，就在中国学习过一年。

SALBAROV ESEN, SAFETY MAINTENANCE ZHONGDA CHINA PETROL COMPANY "I work here because this plant is very close to my home, and the pay is very good. I check on the equipment every two hours to see if the pressure levels, oil levels, and all the gauges show everything is stable and working well."

Salbarov Esen在中大中国石油公司从事安全维护工作，他指出，“我之所以选择在这家工厂工作，是因为这里离我家很近，工资待遇也很不错。我每隔两小时检查一次设备，查看压力表、油位计及所有其他仪表是否指示一切正常，工作良好。”

The company's refined oil products make up almost 40 percent of the local market. They say it has helped reduce the average price of gasoline by almost half. Wu Guoxiu, CGTN, Kara-Balta, Kyrgyzstan.
